Born in Houston, raised in Tarkington Prairie--- its not even a town. It's over by Cleveland, fyi.
Went to Lee College, Baytown on the "workin' side of town."My wife, Casey is from Highlands. I actually remember when Pasadena was cowtown before anyone knew about Gilley's. My folks are involved in pro-rodeo, and Mom used to be a world-class barrel racer, who still trains horses.
I've been in radio over 24 years now, spending time in East Texas hole-in-the-wall stations, until being discovered by a rowdy friend.
I also worked in Louisiana at the time Oiler coach Bum Phillips went to New Orleans---which is how I got attached to the Saints. I've also been a big Astros fan, since way back when the Astrodome was the Eighth Wonder.
My favorite player is Jose Cruz, but there have been so many great guys from Dierker & Wynn to Bass & Doran, and of course, Nolan and Biggio.
And don't forget all those Houston Fat Stock Show & Rodeos. You dont remember that name, do you? First show I ever saw had Charlie Pride. I'll always remember Sonny & Cher there too.
At my first break in big city radio, I remember being intimidated by the fancy buildings & the elevators. I thought everyone else on the elevator was rich. (Actually, they're in debt.) One day, I got off an elevator on the wrong floor, someone mistook me for being "somebody," and I got a job in a helicopter. Total accident!
I not only did traffic in that chopper, but also learned to run the video, so a lot of stuff you saw on TV news was my work-- things on fire, etc. Also did some live reports on Channels 11 and 13.
Another day, I was on an elevator, and it went the wrong way, and that's how I met Casey. We married last year on the Elissa in Galveston.
I've been stuck in this city so long, almost forgot how to fish, but I'm an honorary member of the Beach City Rod Gun & Labrador Retriever Club. I'm also Houston's #1 WEDDING DJ! Yes, you can book me, if you hurry.
Between weddings, hanging out in the swamp, ballgames, kids, and all those traffic reports, I'm pretty busy. Drop me a line & say where you're driving in from, so I can keep an eye out on your roadway. Don't worry, I know the backroads.

You truly made the evening more fun than I ever could have imagined. My sister even said, "This is the BEST wedding that I have EVER been to and it just so happens to be mine!" I also would like to thank you for your high level of professionalism and concern for our family that evening. It is nice to know that there are still people in the industry that genuinely care about the bride's special day. Thank you Mike...you are at the top of my list!

What are you a glutton for punishment?
LOL - Lankford-Parks WeddingI had no idea who I was getting when I hired a DJ for my daughter's wedding on January 31. What a pleasant surprise, to say the least! Not only is Mike a great DJ, he is a wonderful host and coordinator. I have had so many fantastic comments about Mike from all of the guests. He definitely contributed to making the wedding reception absolutely perfect! Mike is not only the best DJ you could ever hope to have, he is genuinely an awesome and caring person. I cannot thank him enough for all he did that night. Anyone lucky enough to have him at their wedding will be truly amazed. Thanks again Mike!! I can't say enough...

He truly cares about each and every wedding and makes them all so very special! Thanks, Mike!
- Hi, Kim F.Hi Kim. I remember you-- you had long brunette hair, were a "fish" in Mrs Hines speech class, which makes you class of '86, I think. I remember everyone in that class, which btw, I didnt need--- I just took it because the freshmen girls in it were lovely. What a rockin school! My wife went to Baytown Sterling, & graduated w/ 900,000 other kids, and get this: THEY DONT ALL KNOW EACH OTHER! Can yall imagine that? (just messin w/ ya, Sterling folks!) Tell your husband thanks for serving America. Wow, can you believe how long its been? "Jail-bait" is now 40.
- classmates!Hey Mike we were in speech class at good old THS! You kept us laughing! Glad to see you are doing well! I way up in Oklahoma @ Ft Sill, where my husband is stationed and is a kick butt Army EOD (bomb squad guy). Peace!
- Thank you SaraYou are a doll, Sara, and it was a pleasure being your DJ. My lovely, wonderful brides like you, are exactly the reason I stayed in the wedding biz, even though 93-Q is taking good care of me. I love seeing the happiness on you and your family's faces when you all celebrate your big night together. Its actually a lot of work, but you are worth it.
Much Love, Mike - ThanksThanks Chester. I'm always happy to come home to Liberty Co. Your family was most gracious and made me feel at home.
- Buck TurgidsonI'm interested in contracting you for my next wedding, which will be in Houston. But first I need to know where the #1 ranking comes from. Of course I want only the best, and so I'd need some confirmation.
- Awesome DJWe wanted to thank you for making our wedding so fun! We have had guests talk about how great you were for the past few months. We are so glad we asked you to play what you thought would get the crowd going... a job well done!
